Lost my dash rheostat - literally!

I had my instrument cluster out loose since I was still doing work on it (I put on white face gauges, painted the needles, replaced my celcius outside instrument gauge with a farenheit one, and then I was planning on replacing the dash bulbs with cool blue ones). A few nights ago, I was driving and all of a sudden... the dash lights went off. Then today I pulled the instrument cluster to find out the cause of the problem and I saw my rheostat was gone. It must have fallen off and is now down where I can't reach it. Funny incident.

If you can remove the lower dash panel (above your legs, below steering column) you might be able to find it again. I've lost some stuff behind my instrument cluster before, and it's reappeared later when I had to pull more of the dash out.

Oh great! Didn't even think of doing that first, I've been trying to purchase a used one online. Thanks for your suggestion, I'll try it first.

Sorry but my celcius gauge is long gone. It was acting up before I replaced it. Soldering didn't do the trick so I just threw it away. You can find several on eBay, and actually I'm not sure if the W126 gauge would fit on a W124. You'd have to check on that first.
