Guys, great thread.
But I still have some confusion/concerns about the alarm (old-timer's disease). - Costanza had no alarm, so no issue for him. - Crhenkel said the alarm will not be an issue, as long as the unit fires the driver door unlock, the alarm will be disarmed. - But Dacanes said he hooked a signal to the alarm to get it to disarm. (what year/model was his car?) It seems pretty clear that any vacuum system will need the DLS-V relays. But, am I "alarm-safe" installing Contanza's system in a '91 126 with the vacuum system that unlocks all doors from the trunk? Thanks a lot, DG |

YES, as long as the unit is unocking the sytem, be it the the trunk or the doors, the alarm will disarm. I had a system on another MB and did it on the trunk ( a W124 300CE) it worked fine.
