sudden drop in fuel economy

So, the plugs and resistor tips were replaced 3 tanks ago, and I got better performance and about the same mileage until this tank, whereby I have run to the last line on the gauge 40 miles sooner than normal, and the car feels like a slug. Any ideas? Air filter is clean, tire pressure is fine.
