So is it safe for me to say that my '93 300D just needs an oil that meets some MB spec no mater which spec?

All four vehicles get full synth every 3,000 miles. No reason, I just like doing it.

Just to change the tenor of the discusssion a bit, what occurred to result in the fleece filter being recommended over the original paper filter medium? What is the risk of using the original filter, which is still being sold.

A car is a car is a car. Did'nt select an MB for the next owner. Point is, MB's are better than most and will hold up under the most negligent care. Hey, operating an MB is not like flying an F4A. Deal with it.

A bicycle is a bicycle. People like you should ride them.......since they have no respect for machinery. Deal with it.

If I were you, I'd be embarrassed to even come on this forum and seek advice. Why bother to fix anything. A M/B will hold up under the most negligent of care.........yours.
