240D Cruise Control help.
I just bought a running 1982 240D and a 1980 240D for $500 bucks. Awesome. Now I'm trying to install the cruise control from the non-working 1980 into the one i drive (the '82). First off does anyone know if this would be possible? The '82 never had it but I found the wiring harness for it, but it has two extra wires and two others are different colors. I've tracked most of the wires, but need to know if it is even possible. Thanks for any help. Diagrams?

I think if you do a search here, you'll quickly discover that the older cruise systems hardly ever have a working amplifier, and the cost to repair or replace is way more than an aftermarket 'add-on' cruise system anyway. If I were you I'd forget the transplant. The odds of it working even if it is hooked up right (a major exercise itself) are stacked against you, and if it doesn't work, you'll have a very hard time figuring out if it's something you didn't connect properly or if it's a bad component in the donor system.
