Question C220 too hot

Please Help? I am new to this. I have A 96 C 220 that is great. But the car seems to be running hot. The temp guage stays around 80 degree mark. Then rises to around 90 to 95 when at iddle or at a red light. How about a colder thermostat. Also there seems to be a rattle noise under the hood. But goes away when in neutral. It looks like a shock on the front of motor, some type of belt tensioner or motor mount. Any help would be great. Thanks

That temperature is normal. Do not install a new thermostat, there is nothing to fix.

You might just need some new coolant. If you recently bought the MB, did you flush all those fluids?

The thermostat establishes the LOWEST operating temperature. The HIGHEST operating temperature is established by radiator heat transfer capacity and (at idle and low speed driving) fan air flow.

Old coolant won't affect operating temperature. It will just increase internal cooling system corrosion including the block and heads.

As stated, your temperatures are perfectly NORMAL!
