On-line OEM part numbers source???

Does anyone know of a link to enable looking up the original Mercedes part number for something? For example, I have a line on an EBay item that the seller has given a MB part number, but there is no where I can look this up to verify it is for my car.
Conversely, I've never seen an aftermarket web supplier that shows the MB part number, only their internal stock/part number.
Yes, I know that I can go out and try to read the number off the part itself, but this is often awkward (eg., a door seal rubber. The car is in storage right now, and even if it was in the driveway, the number is hidden).

I've entered MB parts numbers at this site and at http://www.aplusparts.com

Just about any of the legitimate online MB parts sellers have a slot for you to key in a part number.

Unfortunately, these places do not carry every item a dealer does, so it may not be in their database.

Won't hurt to give it a shot.

Try this:

http://mb.braingears.com/124_DISC1/program/opening.htm

It's the online version of the CD repair manual. The repair manual lists the part numbers for many parts (although not for the whole car) that are common maintenance items.

hope this helps.

Thanks very much....that's exactly what I was after...it is the right part after all.

I tried accessing this at work, in other words, on a fast network and it's REAL SLOW. It took forever to get in, but it's free so I can't complain....can't imagine trying to get to this by way of dial-up.

Try this one guys:
http://wwwsg.daimlerchrysler.com/Projects/wi/cda/etpl?ETNR=&from=query&etpl_lang=01

Be sure not to put spaces and always start with the letter "A" followed by the part number. For example A1248204359

There are some other letters and codes that you can use, but I don't know what they are.
