1999 E320 with 58,000 miles...
Before my engine reaches full temperature, the drivetrain does not operate well. Especially from a stop, the engine races up to 2500-3000 RPM and the shift up is very sudden and sharp from 1st to 2nd. Any ideas what is going on ? No other problems whatsoever. Steve

That is normal. The computer holds the tranny in first gear until it reaches operating temp to heat up the catalysts so that they reach operating temp more quickly. Nothing to worry about, perfectly normal. I am always gentle with my engine and trans while cold, no quick starts or hot rodding until it is warmed up. Happy Benzing!
