210 Rust!!

Just a bit of a heads up to anyone who may be unaware, but the 210 chassis cars are quite prone to rust. Recently had a car come in and I found the drivers side spring perch half ripped off the car due to rust..

Car is a 97 E420.

That doesn't surprise me since 2000 S500 cars in Canada already are rusting. What a shame and a disgrace .

My 1996 E300D has the same issue and the new spring perches are on order from MB. Are you going to replace the springs too? They break also at the lower ends d/t rust pits in the carbon steel.

Just horrible - on an eight year old car. Do you know if it is a Georgia car?

Perhaps not in Georgia but the 210s are the biggest part of the problem. So many fail so young that one wonders if they're not all going to fail eventually.
