Help- I have noticed that when the weather is cold, my (W140)transmission hesitates or takes longer to shift gears. When it's hot, it works find. Does anybody know what's going on??
Thanks in adavance. |

This is not a problem. It is specifically designed this way so when engine is cold, staying in lower gears longer with higher rpm's heats up engine and catalytic converter more quickly for emissions control reasons. Catalytic converter will not "light off" (start working) until it reaches a certain temperature.

Thanks Jay, I thought I was looking at an expensive transmission repair.
