Transmission Question
Howdy all,
I've got a 1995 e320 and was wondering if there is any way to shorten the length of time that it takes to engage from drive to reverse, and vice versa. I noticed yesterday that it took some time (less than one second). Car has 100k on the clock and had transmission service 4 months ago. |

That's just how these transmissions work. I don't think there is much you can do about it. It becomes annoying when your tranny starts to slam into reverse.

If it takes more than a couple of seconds then have it checked out. Mine started doing that (taking more than 2 or 3 seconds to engage reverse) about a year before reverse totally failed.
