Where exactly is the idle speed switch?
I have a 1994 S500 with the dreaded ASR problem. It only happens when the engine is cold. I thought I would throw some cheap parts at it first, rather than take it in to get the codes. It doesn't happen that much. I tightened the accel. cable, and replaced the brake light switch. Can anyone tell me where the idle speed or accel. switch is? I have read alot of threads, and think it is under the carpeting. But, rather than tear up the whole cockpit, can anyone tell me exactly where to look on that model? And is it a tough job? My carpeting is pretty rigid and seemed hard to pull up but a few inches.
