Where do I find this Zerex G-05?

As a new Mercedes owner, I've found this site tremendously helpful. In fact, I've owned my '95 E320 less than a month and have already purchased $100's from Fastlane.

I've checked several of the places listed on www.zerex.com (AdvanceAuto, Walmart Supercenter, Pepboys, Napa) and none actually carry Zerex Anti-freeze. Where do members find this?

Thanks,
Bill aka Newbie to Mercedes.

Aside from direct purchases from Valvoline we have bought it at Autozone.

Do you want the Zerex specifically or is it that you don't have access to oem MB stuff?

You didn't register your location. Our local Murray's (Detroit, Chicago, Toledo) carrys Zerex G 05. If you can't find it, just use the dealer fluid, it's only a few dollars more.

Just got it at pep boys the other day.... although I think they changed the color of the container.... seems to me it used to be gold....now it's white... you have to look hard for the zerex g 05 designation....

Trying to find the newer coolants made by Zerex can be frustrating. I tried to locate one known as EXTREME for an Asian vehicle. An email reply from Valvoline told me to go to the local Auto Zone or NAPA parts store. I contacted every one of these places in my area by phone and was told that they did not carry it. I later learned that you can't depend on the knowledge of the person(s) who answer the phones in these places. Most are clueless. You're simply going to have to drive from store to store. I would check all of the mass marketers in your area and maybe some of the local independent parts shops.

As suggested above, I would simply go to the MB dealer for MB coolant. The time and money you'll spend driving will eat up any savings you were hoping to achieve.

Since you are familiar with Fastlane, order the Mercedes antifreeze from them.

Mark

Kestes,
Sorry for the incomplete info. I live in Buford, GA (About 40 mi North of Atlanta)

I wrote to Valvoline and they replied with the following. However, I called the number and got an answering machine...

"Thank you for your question! Atlanta Fuel Company in Atlanta, GA is a
Valvoline distributor that carries the Zerex G-05. They can be reached at
(404) 792-8999."

Comments:

Hello,

I'm trying to buy some G-05 antifreeze but none of the places near me
(Advance, Walmart, Napa)listed on your site actually carry it. Please
advise where I can purchase some.

Thanks,
Bill
