Fuse #12 190E

Fuse #12 (8a) regulates the rear dome light, central door lock vacuum system, and the anti-theft security system on my 1990 190E. The fuse has blown twice in the past 24 hours. I have also noticed the the lower copper contact is not attatched to the fuse board; it seems to have overheated and broken off. My question is three-fold. 1) Do I need to replace the fuse box due to #12 slot being broken? 2) Should the anti-theft system be on such a low amperage? 3) How can I disconnect the anti-theft system?

#12 is listed as regulating the central vacuum, dome light, and seat adjusters. The seat adjusters are on another fuse because they are not affected by the blown fuse. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

If the fuse holder contact is gone, you need a new one. Im not sure if you can just buy one, or a whole new fuse box. If you have to buy a new fuse box, I would get one from a junkyard if you want to save money. Also, I recommend replacing all the fuses with glass type fuses with metal end caps. They dont corrode as easy unlike the stock fuses which have the fuse material on the outside.

For the alarm, if you want to disable it, locate the alarm system control module and cut the wires or whatever has to be done to disable it.
