Hello everyone...
I have a shop here in Houston, and today an 89 190E 2.6 came in that someone had tried to steal. Anyway, aside from breaking the window, they destroyed the ignition tumbler. So far we bought a new tumbler assembly, but the problem is how the heck do I get the old one out? There is no key, and even with a lock picking kit we have been unable to make the ignition turn or remove it at all. Can anyone advise on the removal procedure so we can take it out and replace it??? Thanx so much in advance... Peter

You will have to cut out the lock. The lock is not the tumbler. We usually just cut the alum. lock in two and then pull it from the column.
Install a new lock and tumbler and ring. I charge 5 hours min. to do this. It is a messy job.
