draining the torquer

as i was reading a great diy article on tranny fluid changes by kim langley it occured to me that an easier way to drain the converter ; instead of rotating the crank: would be to turn the rear wheels instead.does this make sense to anyone or is it one of those things that are so obvious that it must be wrong?
of course this assumes having the rear wheels up in the air!!!!!!!
