Diesel engine dies . . .
I need a little help.
My 96 E300D is acting a little strange. A couple of weeks ago it started a little flutter when going down the highway. With the cruise set, you could see the RPM’s fluctuate about 25 RPM’s and could feel it in the seat of your pants. Last week I had it die on me on two separate occasions while sitting at a stop light. It started right back up. Last night while running down the highway with the cruise set at 65, the engine just shut off. I coasted to the side when I tried to restart, it cranked for about 2 seconds, I let off and tried again and it started right up. Drove home with no problems. I’m going to change both fuel filters this weekend and see what happens. Anyone else seen this and can point me in a direction??? Thanks ![]()
