Air conditioning/82 300 SD

I am readyto install the new compressor and all the other gizmoes that go with it-- a mech told me that the Merc. is charged from the low pressure side /there fore they cant do it ! does any one know what it all means? I am a pretty fair mechanic and improvisor, but I have to say I dont know squat about air cond.--- any help would be appreciated

Get another mech. The machine I use only charges from the high side.

Normal to charge from the low side.....

What's the problem with this? Charging to the highside is how ppl blow-up freon cans in their face.
