460 g-wagon power steering box adjustment.
Hi.
I have a 460 g-wagon power steering unit fitted to my Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer (710M) by prev. owner. Unit works great but a small amount of backlash twixt steering column and internals of box can be detected. Can this backlash be taken up by adjustment without stripping the box ? There are 2 concentric rings around the column entry. The outer has 4 cut-outs in periphery, the inner has 2 indents. Are these locking rings for any adjustment ?? ANY help at all would be MUCH appreciated !! Many Thanks. |

g-wagon steering box
Hi Ray
Thanks for reply. Sorry, but the prev. owner of my Pinzgauer just said the power steering box/assy. was off a "460 g-wagon" Can't offer any more info, at the moment as prev. owner is away on hols. I'm not familiar with g-wagons at all except that they appear to be built like a brick outhouse and perform very well off-road. IF I can get any more details I'll get back to you. I appreciate your help. Thanks. |
