A?C clutch question for a 300CE

Can one replace the clutch in a 1990 300CE, without disconnecting the
A/C lines??
I can remove the radiator and have more room in the front because the factory manual does not say of disconnecting the freon lines and removing the A/C compressor.
Any ideas?
Thanks
Barry
