There you go. I would say that 10W30 is pretty ideal for his climate.

Fab,
I think you are pissin away money with your service intervals, but if that is how you chose to spend discretionary income, that is your business. I agree with Larry. It doesn't matter what brand you use as long as you change it at decent intervals. Many folks here swear by this brand or that, but it all boils down to testerone. Many years ago I learned the secret to what makes a car run smoother and perform better for a client. The secret is to wash the windows and vacuum the carpets. I can't tell you how many times I've received a call to tell me how much better the car ran after I changed the oil. So far I've logged 350,000 miles on my wagon using whatever was on sale. Any body here ever hear of a placebo? Peter

zen,
I agree totally with what you say except that he says he changes oil monthly but he does not say how many miles he drives per month. Since it is a relatively high mileage car it stands to reason that he drives quite a few miles in the course of that month. So, we don't really know what his OCI is. Have a great day, |

Could my A/C problem be caused by a faulty A/C relay and if so how do I test it and where could it be located?
Thanks Fab |

Usually the relay either works or it doesn't. Have you cut the square of paper and held it to the grille near the rear view mirror yet?
Good luck, |

I did as you suggested and the paper did not move. Do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks, Fab |

fab,
I think it would be worthwhile to do some searching and find the thread that tells how to use an LED to do a diagnostic check of the climate control system and see if there are any trouble codes set. There is a connector near the battery next to the heater valve that will blink a trouble code for the subsystems such as climate control, srs, abs, etc. If it blinks a code then there is probably a temp sensor out and you can decipher the code to find out which one. Since it blows cold and THEN hot, it's not the refrigeration system giving trouble it is something to do with the climate control. Good luck, |
