HELP!!! Engine runs without key????

I finnaly got the car started and hear the fuel pump making noise that seems to loud!! The car starts and can take key out and disconnect battery and still runs. The only way to turn off is brake pedal shuts car down. Can a bad alternator or some other part make this happen. Even with the key not in I wiggle the + battery wire and the cars dash lights up. Can this be a voltage regulator problem. Need advice on where to start thanks.

Thanks for your help, I figured it out on my own. The wiring bundle cut into the fire wall edge and shorted out a group of wires. Will recut soder and shrink. Thank god that a fire did not come out of this. My second day of ownership and she is going to be one happy car.

We may never know now .. it's fixed...

At least we know it wasn't a diesel... and with nothing more than the complaint to go by, it could have very well been one..

Not as bad as the one yesterday that wanted a Schematic with no info !!!!!
Should have posted a full 10 page one from from a late model with all the fixin's...

Still not sure it wasn't a diesel even though gasser was replied. Most of the poster's prior threads involved a diesel, one was about a 300TE.

Fix his car? He has a keyless-go system and didn't even know it!
