Tranny Part/Serial # Verification for..

my car? I was hoping someone could look up and verify the Auto tranny part #'s to see if the PO had the right tranny/Torque Converter installed in my 87 190D 2.5. I am worried that, seeing the rest of their work, that all may not be well! Any hints would be great! Thanks Clip

VIN# last 6.....

is 356706 it's a non-turbo, much to my chagrin! Auto......
If you have been following my posts, I can tell you I finally got it out (Tranny and franken T/C). If I am reading the tea leaves correctly, I can tell you some dufus drilled a manual flywheel, (solid, about a 3.5in lip, back not open, with some sor of thin spacer inside that) to shoe horn on a T/C. As suspected, the backspacing was a bit shallow and the nose of the T/C had wedged itself into the rear of the crankshaft, it was painted so that acted like glue as well.. I had to partially remove the engine to get enough space to remove it all. As I recall, all the auto flex plates were barely wider than the ring gear, with the back cut partially open. I would love to get the proper part number for the Flex Plate and spacers as well. That way I can at least get it all put back to normal after I replace a main seal. Thanks in advance for any help, as usual, this board is a LIFESAVER! BTW Does anyknow off the top of their head what size 12t. socket will get my Flex plate bolts off...and what size Torx (replacement) will get it back on???

You're right about the auto flexplate. I can't believe someone would go through all that trouble.

Flywheel/flexplate Bolt heads should be 12-pt, 12mm. The replacements should have the same heads.
