Harmonic Balancer replacement interval/maintenance?
I just bought a 2000 C280 with 36k.
According to the Service Campaign Bulletin, my harmonic balancer, part number A112 035 05 00 is good to go versus the 00 00 and 06 00 parts that need replacement. Is there a recommended replacement/maintenance interval for this part? Thanks, glenmore 1991 300CE 1990 LS400 2000 C280 |

No, as long as you don't have one of the defective units, it should go a million miles without maintenance.
Good luck, |

You can use common sense to check it.
With the engine at idle, shine a flash light on it. It should be spinning true and straight. Compare to other pulleys for reference. If it is wobbling or fluttering about, I would recommend changing it. If it starts to make noise, look carefully to see if it has migrated into the oil pan rearwards. You should be fine with the one you have. Dr.D
