Where to buy nuts, screws, misc. fasteners?

The windshield wiper on my 95 E320 was making an unusual noise. Found that I could move the entire unit by hand. After removing all the various parts around the unit I found two nuts missing.

Where they've gone and for how long is a big mystery but the missing nuts are 10mm with a washer built in.

Question is: where to buy replacements and, for that matter, other misc. Mercedes screws and fasteners.

Thanks for your help,

Allan Hobgood

you can get automotive grade metric hardware at loew's. you can also buy assortments of metric hardware that are a great thing to have handy from griot's garage or pep boys. mine has saved me many trips to the parts store.

most hardware stores carry parts that are of equal quality as OEM stuff.

Tip: When you go to the junkyard, remove random nuts, bolts, and washers from various Mercedes, BMWs, and Audis. Organize them somehow and believe me, they will come in handy very often.

To expand on Speedy's tip, I've been collecting fasteners over the decades and have coffee cans full of them. I always strip the fasteners off anything I throw out. Now anytime I'm looking for a screw or bolt I usually have it on the shelf... no special trips to the store.
