300E driveshaft alignment marks
The driveshaft alignment marks are not centered as they should be. That is the single line is not centered between the two lines on the rear half shaft. This is an 86 300E with manual transmission. Is there any case on these model cars where the alignment marks are not supposed to line up? I know some of the 123's were assembled that way.
I know that the front flex disc was replaced and I replaced the rear flex disc myself. I don't think the driveshaft halves separated when I did that procedure, I don't even know if it's possible. But, the car has had a slight vibration noticeable since then which I attributed to the aging tires. I'm replacing the center support, so I guess now would be the time to correct the alignment. Thanks for the help!
