Supercharging a high compression engine is a death wish for the engine. Without lowering the compression ratio, supercharging would result in engine life measured in minutes, or at best, hours.

If you could find dished pistons for this engine to reduce the compression to about 8 to 1, then you could proceed with some chance of usable engine life.

Good luck,

You can do a search on this in the "Hot Rods" forum as this question comes up often. A couple of guys there are in the process of trying to outfit a turbo system on the M104 (or maybe the M103, I don't remember).

From what I've read over in that forum, MB pretty much squeezed every bit of performance out of that particular engine configuration, and as far as I know, there isn't anything on the market for the M104 with regards to a bolt-on kit. Even if you could locate a chip mod or dial the timing advance (MB retards this a bit to allow some octane leeway), those gains will yield negligible results.

I have toyed with the idea of modding the TE,,, but it runs so good right now I would hate to screw it up. It can still surprise a LOT of ricers and others.

yes a m104 can handle boost, and has been supercharged before. but go for a turbo instead. running about 6 psi ur engine will be pushing 300hp, do some searching around
