This is a bit off topic, but I hope it is appreciated.
in college I had an old 1969 Chrysler Newport. (about two city blocks long) I was stopped at a light when a drunk hit me. It pushed the car several feet.. I got out and the first thing is see is the drunks front end.. he can't even open the door because the damage went that far back... my car had a cracked tail light. A huge chrome fender was may 1/4 inch askew. BTW, the Jetta front end is probably designed to collapsed... I think our much older 124's are designed the same way. It's good to know you are ok. and that the rear end can take a hit.
