Narrowing down my power window problem

I posted about a month back on the front driver's side window for my '84 300D. Wasn't working... replaced fuse and cleaned terminals in switch. Still wouldn't work... began having problems with the rear driver's side window and replaced the switch. I was able to put the window up long enough to put in my WVO conversion (which required some electrical monkeying around under the steering wheel), after which the window wouldn't go down.

WELL

I ignored the problem because I had too much to do. Finally opened up the door and tested the voltage across the connection between the wondow motor and the switch cables. The power is making it that far... and then I noticed something: my window motor makes a noise when I push UP on the switch, but no noise when I push down.

Now, I'm not sure whether this is an indicator of a bad motor, but I am thinking that it is something strange with the electrical systen. WHY? Because problems began to spring up with the radio around the same time. It seems to lack enough voltage at times and kicks out (powers off and powers on again) over and over and over and over. (can you guess that it might be a bit annoying?)

I'm going to go jimmy with the fuse box for a bit, but am hoping that someone out there might be able to shed some light so that when I return and haven't fixed the problem I will at least have a better idea.

And BTW, I can't remember whether I put the window down after I replaced the switch...

I jimmied with the fuse box... no change.

Is my motor gone or could it be something else? The timing seems odd - the motor wasn't straining at all before it quit.

OK... figured it out...

SWITCH!

Jumpered the motor and it worked... figured there was no way something was going on between the switch and the motor, so I looked inside... though I had just replaced the switch, it somehow had broken? I'm not sure how, but one of the copper plates in the bottom was cracked... pulled out the soldering iron and whammo!

Damn windows... at least I can put it down now!
