Belt Replacement

Belts have consistent small cracks What is the trick to changing the belts on this car? |

Pretty easy to do. Loosen the belt tensioner, take the old one off and put the new one on. Make sure you have a diagram on how to route it before you take the old one off.

A series of small cracks doesn't mean the belt needs to be replced. I would ask a dealer what MB specs are. I was told by a Ford dealer mechanic and Ford allows up to 4 cracks ones going through the rib, per 1 inch area.

Thanks guys. I'll probably hold off on changing for a little while, but I'm going to order the belts just so I'll have them ready in the event one breaks, or I start to see more significant chipping.
