Problem with AC Controller 98 S420

I had a problem with old AC pushbutton assembly. The a/c worked fined but the buttons got sticky and would get stuck together. So i ordered a new one from germanstar. I put in the new one, the display came on, air would come out but it would not be cold at all. I put the old one back in to check and it worked fine. So i called germanstar and they send me a replacement. It does the same thing as the other one. The part number from my old a/c controller is 210 830 05 85, however the one from germanstar is 140 830 23 85. Is that why it does not work ??? Both units look identical. Anybody has any idea on what the problem is ?
When i took the car to the Mercedes dealership they told me the a/c pushbutton was not functioning properly. ????

The installer (you) can indeed version code that A/C pushbutton. Send me a fax number thru the private message board & I will fax you that info!
