Do any of you guys run synthetic for 6k miles or so and switch filters at the half way point... or do you trust the filters. Or do you not trust the synthetic and switch out oil at 3k.

I am thinking about trying synthetic in the 300e as we go into fall and winter. I don't think my son will put on more than 8k miles in a year since he can't afford the gas.
