is this how my 190e 2.6 should shift?

if i take off easy, it takes off in 2 and shifts normal....but if i really floor it taking off, it will take off in first, get second gear rubber and so forth....is this normal? or is something out of adjustment

Don't know what you mean by 2nd gear rubber, but that's normal behavior. That trans will normally take off in 2nd; it'll only take off in first if you make it (via the kickdown switch, as you described, or by putting the shifter down to 2 at a complete stop.)

The 1-2 shift is usually pretty harsh.

If you floor it but do not engage the kickdown switch it will start in first and shift to second around 4000RPM for a smoother shift. If you bring it to redline with the kickdown engaged it will bark the rears due to the higher RPM and kickdown solenoid still engaged holding the gear as long as possible.
