Screamer pipe: looking for more info

Read about these screamer pipes on turbo external wastegates. Can anyone point me to some more info on this topic?

THANKS

Is this anything like putting a washer in the tail pipe to make it whistle?

Well.... sort of actually!
Only it would be located between the exhaust manifold and turbo unit, replacing the internal wastegate, to blow off excess exhaust pressure the turbo cann't handle. On boost, it apparently generates a deafening, jet-like scream that Ferrari V8/V12 engines are famous for

Quite illegal aswell, I believe..., like most of the big fun things in life
