Question 1990 300E Electrical Short

Last night my defective bulb indicator came on in the Instrument Panel after smelling a burnt rubber odor. Upon checking the outside of the car, I noticed the R/R tail light was out. After replacing the lamp, that didn't solve the confused: poblem. That is when I noticed that the Instrument Panel lights were also out.

Upon arrival at my residence, I checked fuse #3, an eight amp fuse for the R/R, R/F, Instrument Panel and Headlamps washer. After replacing the fuse it blew again. I disconnected all of the electrical plugs going to the Windshield Washer devices, put another fuse in and it hasn't blown thusfar.

I have all of the service manuals except the electrical, however, I can't find anything about the Windshield washer container. It appears to be hotter than what I would consider normal. There is a heating coil in the tank, which is o.k. if you live in a cold climate. What controls the temperature of this tank and where can I obtain additional information about it and the devices that are installed within and on the outside of it?

Does anyone have a source for a good MB manual that covers things of
this nature?

Thanks

Steve
