Question Need help for 1989 190E.

Just recently bought this very clean "Baby Benz", but the West Texas sun has taken it's toll on the headlight rings. And I'm not clever enough to figure out how to put the new ones on. I can't figure out how to remove the side markers to start.
Also, the wiper stops about mid-way on the passenger side. It works perfectly while it is on, but always stops in the same place.
Would certainly appreciate any help on either of these subjects.
Thank you,
Sandy

On my 89 260e: Look where the light bulb goes in from the rear of the assembly under hood. Just below the bulb connector is a wide lever. Actually two. One is stationary, the other moves. Press them together and push out gently. The side marker just pops out. Be carefull though. There are two index slots that slide into the headlight surround. (Sorry, forgot the official term for those expensive plastic panels.) To remove those, (on mine)there are two clips on the top which are obvious. And two on the bottom. The outside one was easy to unsnap. The inside one (towards center line of car) more difficult. Mine had a metal strip below the plastic that I removed first. A screw visible with the hood open is easy. The other end is under the side marker you removed.

Thumbs up Mr. Powell, you are the MAN>

Your tip was all it took for me to find the little bit of difference between our two models and in no time at all my son had the side marker popped off.

After that it was a piece of cake. Thank you for being a friend in need.
My hat is off to you, Sir.
Sandy
