Light Bulbs Pleaseeeee help!!!

Hey guys i had a question, i have a 87 mercedes 300 DT and i want to change the lights on the car. The regular bulbs come with a 45/65 wattage but i want them to be more white so i want to go with a 90/100 wattage. Do you think these bulbs will do damage to my wiring or to my car? Is it advisable to do it?? and also what kind of tires work best with mercedes performance and comfort wise??

Thanks alot for your help it is much appreciated

These are the bulbs i want to purchase:

Putting more watts behind the cr@ppy DOT lenses will not appreciably improve lighting. Do a forum search for Euro or e-code headlights. It's amazing what 55 watts can do behind real lenses.

If you insist on higher wattage bulbs in your car, you should consider relays and upgraded wiring. Not only will you protect the wires and connectors, you'll ensure that the new bulbs are getting the current they need.

Used sets start at $200, new originals go to $500 and beyond.

You already have a minimum cost headlight. Putting higher wattage inside it won't give you much in terms of additional light.

If you want more light on the road, you have to spend the money to upgrade to the 3-code lamps.

They are about $200 for the pair. You can get them here:

If you can't spend the money, then leave them as is. Don't put larger bulbs in the existing lamps because the additional heat that you will generate will eventually give you some problems with the existing wiring.

The higher wattage will eventually damage the wiring, the lamp socket and may melt the plastic nearby. For some improvement in your lights, you can use the Sylvania Silverstars. They are not too expensive and you can often get them on sale with a rebate. I have them in my 300E and my Volvo 940. They are not as good as the Euro standard lights but much cheaper.
