Start saving money for parts.
Regular maintenance items ( brakes, etc. ) are very expensive.
Yeah, I'm sure it is a fun car, if you can afford the insurance & parts.

I had a C36 and liked it. However, the warning on parts prices is to be heeded. Much of the car is a "normal" C-Class, and uses "normal" inexpensive parts, but anything unique to the AMG model is EXPENSIVE.

Since the engine is an M113 V-8, watch for a faulty harmonic balancer. There are some 722.6 issues and the C43 seems to have a high number of them.

Relax. The normal wear parts have come down considerably for the C43/C36. The C43 motor is a strong one, but plug changes can be arduous, as there are a lot of them. Other than that, regular oil changes should see you through. Brakes are about 3x the price of a regular W202, so about $150.00 for a front disc or so. Everything else about the suspension is regular W202. They are magnificent cars, as you have found, and good value for the money these days.

Yeah sure, 16 sparkplugs @ $ 10.00 + each = $ 160.00. plus the pain in the ass of removing/installing them.
I'd rather spend $ 28.00 and 1/2 hour installing 4 plugs on my car.
Do your own research & tell me if the C 43 is economical.
I already know it's fun.

Yes, they are a pain to do a plug change on, but I'm sure I'm not alone in considering the '90s AMG cars as good value currently.

I looked at a very nice C 43, at my local dealer, about 6 months ago.
Could have bought it at a very good price.
The only thing that discouraged me , aside from the colour ( red ), was the price of parts.
The car was on the lot for 5 or 6 month, before a real AMG enthusiast purchased it.
