OK, what's the trick to door panel removal??
I have spent the weekend reading through all the descriptions and photos that everyone has posted here to remove the rear door panel on their MB. Thanks for all the help.
I know I'm getting closer, but I don't wanna break something. I have removed the 10mm bolt holding the top of the door handle, did NOT find any screws under the lower handle, unclipped the door release rod, did not find any applicable screws behind the ashtray and suceeded in breaking one of the lower retaining clips (oops!) but the panel seems to be as solid as ever. I think the door release lever is still stuck on something... Some specific advise for this '92 300D model would be greatly appreciated. |

Isn't there an additional screw holding down the black striking plate cover at the edge of the panel?
If you're doing the front doors, I think the power seat controls have to be gently removed also, and watch out for the springs, The door panel should just lift up - beware of the clips on the rubber seal at the top of the panel. |

The W124 requires a sharp upward rap to release the panel. It does NOT come off straight out.

If it's not been removed before, it will be stuck along the window molding at the top of the panel. Very stuck in my case. You really have to tug on it.

Well, I got the car really moving from side to side, but the panel is not moving. It is possible that it is stuck on the window weatherstrip. Does the weather strip on the bottom of the window come out with the door panel? Thanks for the help.

Have you gone over the door and made sure you got out all the screws? The lock button also unscrews out, and there may also be a screw on the door latch striker area.

The weather strip comes out with the door panel. But it is connected to the top of the door with clips that might get a little rust on them and are really tight. There is a small screw in the latch area holding a black finish piece in place. No other screws.
You can carefully jerk up on the panel but only about 3/4 inch then it comes out. I think it's kind of a poor design. You'll see. Especially the plastic clips glued to the particle board panel.
