1991 190 2.3 Headlights don't shut off

I came home from work today to find the headlights on. All the switchs are off. From what I have looked up there is not a relay for this. Would my problem be with the headlight switch or the high-low beam switch.

i have seen parts of old burned fuses accumulate in the fuse box area, somtimes they will move over contact other terminals and send power directly to the headlamp or other fuses, have you checked this?

I have checked the fuses already. I had to remove 2 fuses to shut off the lights. Each side has its own fuse.

Sounds like headlight switch but I would be sure about a relay before trouble shooting the switch.

You might do a search to see if others have had a similar problem.

Just curious, what did you do 2 years ago to fix the problem?

I replaced the headlight switch but that did not fix the problem. They just shut off and its been fine ever since. When I use the high low beam switch they stay on with no flicker or flash. I also unpluged the alarm box located under the passengers floor mat. No change.

I think I found the problem. I removed the fuse box, fun job and found the headlight fuse #18 shorted out to #12 dome light. I disassembled the box as far as I could and found severe corrosion. It looks like I need a new fuse box. Time to call Phil
