Throttle linkage/"88 300SEL (103)
I took it upon myself to clean and oil (atf) the linkage. I removed each one seperately, cleaned it and replaced it. Each one went back just fine but now the car is idling @1200 rpm at idle. Is ther something else that I may have bumped or knocked loose that is causing this? I did have the complete air cleaner off in order to get to the linkage below it. I thought it best to try to get some ideas and help before doing any more to the car. Thanks for any and all suggestions.

I faced this problem with a 300SE 1988 also but it was really so so so hard to discover. It was a little clip on the side of the ignition steel box (I don't know it's name). It works like the spring. The problem was this clip is opening without closing. (Sorry I can't explain it in good English). I'm searching for a picture for it but couldn't fine sorry. It's small size to control and connect the pedal arms.
I'm using non-technical words because I don't know the real names of them!
