Idle speed is electronicly controlled. However on the 1986 cars there a idle trim control that can be changed. Next to the firewall(drivers side) there a black knob with numbers 1 thru 7. Normally the # 4 willbe lined up with the mark. By PULLING the knob out a little & turning knob to a higher number & then pushing the trim knob back in, the idle will be increased!
