E320 stopping

I just changed my E320s front rotors and brake pads and flushed the brake fluid. Is it common for the car with a new set of brake pads and rotors to take a little longer for it to come to a stop. I hope I didn’t get air in the brake lines!!! The peddle has a approximately 2" play but when I put some pressure on it the car comes to a gradual stop??? Has any one experienced something like this? Thanks all and Merry X-mas.
