Simple Adjustments

Please pardon me if this has already been answered, or is to simple. I would like to adjust my dash analog clock in my 03 E320. I just purchased the vehicle, without manuals, so I am in a bind. Additionally, the dome lights are on while driving (very dim, but on) and I cannot figure out how to turn them off.
Appreciate any help that you may offer.

Dash lights.... Reostat. Most just jumper the wires across, but you can easily fix them or swap them out for a new one.

For fixing it you need to take the reostat off, and take a look at it. WHEN APPLYING DOWNWARD PRESSURE, unbend the clips and slowly let it up. There should be a spring behind it (i'm going off memory), and a controlabal resistor (spring in a slot with a brass lever riding on it)

On mine the spring came out of the slot, so I glued it back (shooglue or hotglue on the BOTTOM OF THE SLOT ONLY, then put it back.

For the clock, I think you press the center wheel inwords, and rotate it for the time...

Get a manual, CHILTONS ONLY

For your dome lights, try the switch. It's located above the rear view mirror. Slide it down for normal operation.

This is covered in your owner's manual.

hookfree

if you go to mbusa.com and play around a bit you should be able to download a copy of your cars owners manual as a PDF file.
