Unhappy Mouse Nest

I have had countless visits to the shop with my 2002 C320 wagon in the past year. The airbag warning light took 5 visits to remedy. Next, I had numerous "visit workshop" warnings, plus assorted "lights out" warnings. The dealership told me they found a mouse nest. Supposedly, they replaced the battery and alternator. Since this was done in 0ctober, I have had at least 5 road service calls for a dead battery. They discovered a power drain, and replaced the offending part. Now today we loaded the car with Christmas gifts, only to have to unload it due to another dead battery. I'm ready to trade it in tomorrow, but I'd rather find another solution. Of course, we just passed 50,000 miles, so it is now out of warranty (although all of the work was done within the warranty period). Has anyone had similar problems?

since you first brought the issue up while the car was under warranty they should honor that, for information about rodents my family used to live in a semi rural area and had many issues with rodent damage to the engine harness, what we did to remedy the issue was to open the hood of the car, the dark secure area that rodent like was now not there, so they never again used the area to nest, no more rodent damage.

For what it's worth, I see a couple 203's every month with dead batteries due to excessive rest current draw, usually over 150mA. The seat control modules are by far the most likely culprit. Let us know what happens.

Had a rabbit eat two plug wires from boot to boot years ago on my wifes car. Cure is to put a few moth balls under the hood some where they will just sit and not fall out. Keeps rodents out from under the hood as they do not like the smell.

I had a similar problem but to a porsche boxster I use to have. was a 98 with only 8k miles. it only sat in the garage most of the time and when ever I would take it out, Problems Problems. I finally took it into the porsche dealer and it turns out a rabbit was living in my engine compartment which chewed some wires up and left some food over near some very sensitve wiring. I got that fixed and the car ran perfect again. Thank god I didnt pay for that. Was covered under warranty but If I did pay, It would of costed me $2300!!!!!!

Had a 203 car in today with a dead battery. Checked the alternator and battery and everything ckecked good after charging the battery. Had a 1.2 amp draw and pulled all fuses but the draw was still there. I unpluged the seat modules and the draw went down to .3 amps which is still too much. I locked the doors and the draw went down to .03 amps. I think .03 amps is permissable. What am I missing.
