w124 wiper assembly clip - quick question
I've had the wiper assembly out of my 300D long enough to forget exactly how it's supposed to go back. The placement of the nuts is obvious, but I also have a metal U-shaped clip and a small square of rubber that I set aside from the removal. Clearly they go on the front mount point of the bracket, but however I try to arrange them they don't clip securely in place.
Am I missing a part or is there a trick to installing them? A clear photo would be perfect. Thanks! |

I realize this is a pretty basic question, but man would I appreciate a hint on it.
Naturally, I can just zip-tie the thing, but then I'd have failed the engineer who designed the wiper mounting system. Can't have that. |

Thanks
Thanks for the pointer, Haasman. I didn't get nearly that deep into things. I'm just trying to fix the big aluminum wiper assembly bracket to the small steel bracket behind the rear engine firewall.
I'd throw a photo of it up but I'm having digicam issues. Quote:

That retaining U-clip (#5) slips on from the front (open end pushed towards the wiper assy)
I took mine out recently to repair the blower motor and I recall that it didn't seem to snap or snug into place easily. Also I didn't have the small square of rubber that you mentioned. Good Luck
