Hi everyone,
I have a 94 c280 with just over 130,000kms on it. Last Friday I started noticing a slight 'clunk' noise from the right rear of the car whenever I lock the doors/trunk. Seems to me that when the fuel door lock engages, the noise is from inside of the trunk sounding like metal on metal noise.
Had a car wash Friday evening then drove home and car was left in teh garage until this morning (Monday). Then this morning, got problem with cold start. It cranked but will not start. I had this problem before (2 years ago) and it went away after a fuel filter replacement. I finally got it to start this morning after many tries and it then drove like normal. No porblem picking up. Subsequent warm starts were all immediate and okay.
I am thinking if it has a vacuum leak somewhere that may have precipitated the cold start problem.
Battery, s.plugs, wires, fuel filter all just under 2 yr old. Alternator is 1 month old. OVP has the 'good' part number on it.
Any input will be much appreciated. If it is vacuum leak, what should I be looking for and is it going to be big$$$.
Thanks.
KC
