Motor Mount on a 1991 300E

The motor mount on my 1991 300E fell out of the car last week. I just now got the time to work on it and now can't figure out which side of the mount is the top or bottom. One side is made of rubber, while the other is made of metal with ridges on it. Any help would greatly be appreciated.

Have you looked at the car yet? Is there not a single bolt on the top and two on the bottom? What does the other side look like?

The metal side with the ridges is the top. Make sure it's lined up right.

Your old one fell out??

If you look at your new mount carefully you will see that it only installs one way due a notch/protrusion.

Thanks for the info,
I got it figured out. Yeah, the mount literally just fell out of the car one day, and my neighbor picked it up and gave it back to me. The car had been idling very roughly ever since I bought it in August, and I noticed that something went awry immediately after it fell out. Hopefully by the time I get the job finished it will be riding smoothly.

Again, thanks alot to everyone that helped me out.
