Injector cleaner - dangerous

Hi,

I have a 1999 C280 (V6). After replacing the MAF and cleaning the throttle body (very dirty), I still have slight rough idling. The agents plugged in the Star box, but it don't give any error codes. Initially it gave a error code saying the throttle body can't be programmed (or it looses its programming, or whatever. That is what they told me - I didn't see the code myself). This lead to them cleaning the throttle body, and solved the error code.

I now want to try and clean the injectors by adding a cleaner to the fuel tank.

Are there any, and I mean any, dangers to doing this. Meaning can it damage anything, or loosen up gunk that might stick somewhere else and worsten the problem.

I just paid about $1000 for service/repairs and really cant afford any other hick-ups.

How much of the cleaner can I use, and how often.

Thanks!!
