Alarm Module - which one?
Despite my attempts at lubricating the driver's door lock, the key is still hard to get into the lock, and the alarm is not disarmed when the key is turned. The upshot is that even if you can get the key into the lock, when you turn it and open the door the alarm goes off.
I'm thinking I have to replace the lock, but before I do that I'd like to disconnect the alarm module. I pulled the carpeting and metal cover from the passenger footwell, and saw several connectors. The two largest have black (left in the photo below, with a 126 part number) and silver (top in the photo, with a 124 part number). I think it's the black one, but I want to make absolutley sure before I disconnect it. There are two connectors attached to it, one I believe is for the door switches, the other for the radio. ![]() What happens to the radio after I disconnect the alarm module? This is for my 1993 W124 300E2.8.
